Sunday, April 2, 1967 Sugar on Snow at Joslin Farm Leader: Mrs. Harlan Farnsworth It was a sunny, warm afternoon when 33 (plus about 7 pre-school that did not pay) friends and members of the Montpelier Section enjoyed sugar-on-snow at the Joslin sugar house. We arrived about 2:30 p.m. and hiked across the muddy field where Mrs. Joslin was boiling the syrup in a small pan. We each had a snow boat, a cup of syrup, two donuts and pickles, coffee and punch. (Cost - $1.00) It clouded up about 3:00 p.m. so we started back about 3:30 which just about gave us time to get home before it started raining hard. [per newspaper clipping, this was at Edgemont Farm, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Frances Joslin of Upper Terrace Street in Montpelier]

In the morning they came down the Alpine Trail, picking blueberries as they came. About this point, your scribe moved, and lost the clipping (if I ever had one.) [* Former Cynthia Mix] [from newspaper clipping] They approached the summit from the Jonesville side, climbing in the rain. At Gorham Lodge they found a dozen boys there.
