Trip Reports

Sat Feb 05 2022 Snowshoe to Taylor Lodge by Steve Bailey

Seven hikers braved the cold temperatures to make the ascent from Lake Mansfield Trout Club to Taylor Lodge. Luckily there was lots of sun to warm us up. There was a frigid wind off the lake to start off, but it eased up once we started climbing out of the valley. We were fortunate to find that the trail was well packed by lots of skiers who had preceded us. However, the track was drifted over in several places, so we had to work on the way up. Lunch at the lodge was great - we were in full sun with no wind. The trip back was a lot easier, and we finished in under three hours.
