LT: Eden Crossing to Hazen's Notch

Anne, Pippin, and I left MHS at 7 AM and, after spotting one car at Hazen's Notch, started hiking about 9. We stopped at the Belvidere Fire Tower (see photos) and completed the hike before 4:30. The weather forecast had called for 80% chance of (scattered) thundershowers, but we encountered only humidity heavy enough to preclude any views when we reached Haystack. All along the trail, from Belvidere to Haystack, there is scat evidence of serious Moose activity. Moose and beaver are reported to roam the area, especially after a dam (unspecified) was destroyed. The trail had recently been cleared of blowdowns, but we did encounter some wet and muddy spots, and some areas that could profit from clipping.
