Wildflower Hike Wildflower hike on Snake Mountain in Addison,VT: We hit it just right the best display of Trillium wild flowers I have ever seen in the last 10 years! The forest floor was just carpeted with wild flowers. We never made it to the top of the mountain there was just to many flowers to see. For future wildflower hikes to the Champlain Valley keep this time of year in mind. The group was small but we did not care, and had a great lunch on a few logs in a sea of white Trillium flowers. The sky was over casted but it never rained. If you want a list of the flowers and birds we identified call or e-main Duncan Wilkie. Two of the group are expert birders. Photos are by, and copyright by, Jane Walker Richmond. More of her photos are in the report from May 16. Duncan Wilkie |
