Saturday December 10, 1994 Hike or Snowshoe Spruce Mountain Leader: Nancy Schulz Not enough snow to wear snowshoes but enough to make plenty of atmosphere. A good portion of the trail was a "river of ice" making careful foot placement essential. The sun was out for most of our ascent and the day was windless, even at the top of the fire tower. Views were fine, extending to Mt. Washington in the Whites and various peaks in the Adirondacks and, of course, closer landmarks such as Camel's Hump. No injuries and no problems and we were back in Montpelier by 3:00. Participants: Nancy Schulz Steve Fettner Laura Meade Fred Jordan Steve Larose Steve Lightholder Michael Chernick Doris Washburn
