Sun Feb 05 2023 Snowshoe hike to Taylor Lodge by Steve and Heather Bailey
Eleven hikers set off for Taylor Lodge. We had originally scheduled this hike for the day before, but with high winds and temperatures below zero, we decided a day later would be better. We were met with light winds and temperatures in the twenties, very pleasant for hiking. When we got to Taylor Lodge we continued up a short steep trail which led to a very nice viewpoint over Lake Mansfield and the valley leading to it. The view from the lodge was very good many years ago, but the trees have grown up so much that you can’t see that well from the lodge, so it is great to have a new viewpoint.
