Sat Aug 13 2022 Hike from Fayston to Burnt Rock on the Long Trail by Dana Lawrence
On a lovely summers day with moderate temperatures and just a hint of mist, 10 participants (1 leader and 9 hikers ) commenced a hike from Fayston to Burnt Rock Mt. 4.9 miles out and back on the Long Trail. On of our group and a member of the section is the adopter of the Hedgehog Trail and she accompanied us to complete some ongoing trail maintenance as well as show us the location of highlights of the trail of the way up. The trail has some interesting notches and crevasses through which it travels and offers lovely views on the many exposed rocks at various points at the top. The group lunched in that area and proceeded back down to the trail head recounted outstanding moments of the trail and day.
