SUMMARY: Bolton -
DESCRIPTION:Bolton Valley Nordic Center Cross country ski. The Bolton Nordic center offers a wide variety of cross country and back country ski terrain and trails. Depending on snow conditions on that date\, outing may include a combination of some uphill and downhill skiing. Distance and difficulty of this outing will be adjusted to the level of skill and experience of the participants\, so please contact us prior to the event so we can make plans for the day. Trail tickets are required for use ofrnthe trails and must be purchased at the Nordic Center and equipment\, if needed can be rented there. We will stop for a lunch break at a suitable spot along the trail. Base elevations of this area are quite high making for good ski conditions\, even if snow is lacking where you live. Hope to see you there. Contact Leaders: Dana Lawrence 371-9610 hikeski51@gmail.com  or Nancy Thomas 272-6650 for meeting time and place and additional details about the trip.

SUMMARY: Middlesex -
DESCRIPTION:Below is the description of the event which was originally scheduled for April 9. Given the weather forecast\, I am moving the event to the raindate\, Sunday\, and will meet participants at Rumney School – the parking lot off the road (rather than the one next to the school)– at 1 p.m. Please call or email me at the contact information below if you plan to attend. In addition\, if you wish to carpool (for people who are fully vaccinated and masked in car) or caravan from Montpelier\, let me know. rnrnAlso\, I would recommend bringing a drink and a snack and wear hiking boots as the dirt roads will be muddy (and perhaps still covered in snow/ice on a small section). Hiking poles aren’t necessary (except helpful if there is still snow or ice on a small section of road) but I will bring them to get a bit of an upper body workout.rnrnRoad Walk. (Rain Date: Sunday\, April 10) Middlesex. 5 miles. Minimal elevation gain. Bear Swamp Road. This loop (pavement and dirt road) passes the trailhead to Hunger Mountain and is a good warm up for hiking season ahead. Contact Leader: Phyllis Rubenstein\, 802-793-6313 or Phyllis@ PhyllisRubensteinLaw.comcastbiz.net for meeting time and place.
