Wednesday June 21, 2017 Sabin's Pasture Hike by Phyllis RubensteinFour of us hiked about 3 miles round trip from Sabin's Pasture to the Elk's Club on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Leaving from the parking lot behind Vermont College, we descended to Blanchard Brook, where we either rock-hopped or walked across a log. We stopped in the quarry, from where slate was removed about 100 years ago. We then ascended to the overlook of the Worcester range and Camel's Hump. We continued on through woods trails to the Elk's Club, where we had good views south. On our return trip, we noticed the remaining stems of wild leeks (ramps), which grow abundantly in the wet woods. It was a lovely early evening hike.
