Trip Reports

Sunday August 09, 2015 Missisquoui Valley Rail Trail ride by Reidun Nuquist

Having done the western section of the rail trail more than once, this time we rode from the Richford terminus to Enosburg Falls and back, 20 miles in all. Compared to the Stowe and Burlington bike paths, this one is rural, skirting farm yards and back yards, much of it along the broad Missisquoi River, with Jay Peak as backdrop. With all the rain this summer, the trail was lined with joepye weed, red clover, goldenrod, fragrant bedstraw, tansy, and other wildflowers. We ate our lunch in the shade, on the edge of the Enosburg Falls fountain.
