Thursday July 04, 2013 July Fourth Mount Hunger and White Rock Hike by George Longenecker

Though only two of us turned out for the July Fourth Mount Hunger and White Rock trek, it turned out to be a good day. Rocks were slippery, but we made it to the summit with no mishaps. The sighting of the day was a Black-throated Blue Warbler. A chorus of Hermit Thrush and White-throated Sparrows greeted us along the trail. The expansive flat stone expanses on White Rock are unique, a real gem at the south end of the Worcester Range. We made it down before yet another thunderstorm deluge.
