Cross-country skiing at Trapp Family Lodge touring center

The cross-country ski season started late, but once it arrived, it made up for lost time. Snow conditions were ideal in advance of our outing, and excellent on the day. Eight of us enjoyed fresh, falling powder the whole way: Mary S. said it was like skiing "in whipped cream"! We made good time up to cabin where we had lunch while are steaming jackets and mittens were drying above the fireplace. After our break, we took the Haul Road trail back to the touring center. On the way home, it was still snowing. Hurrah!
