Cross-country skiing in Craftsbury
On a cool, bright Town Meeting Day we had one of the best ski days of the season. Four of us--Mary G., Stuart, Andrew, and I--traveled to Craftsbury Outdoor Center where we skied 10 brisk miles on nearly deserted trails. The conditions were close to perfect: fresh snow on fast, well-groomed tracks. And the sun sparkled on the dusting of powdered sugar on hemlocks and spruce trees. We were back in Montpelier in late afternoon, allowing us to do our civic duty at the polls before they closed.
